If you're a parent, you know the frustration of trying to understand what your baby wants or needs. Think about how nice it would be if your baby could just tell you what he's thinking.
Imagine....
It's 2:00 am and your 8 month old baby is crying. You go in to check but both you and your baby become increasingly frustrated as he continues to scream while you unsuccessfully guess one possible solution after another. The crying continues, the clock ticks, and there's no end in sight.
Better scenario...
It's 2:00 am and your 8 month old is crying. You go in to check and he signs that he wants his teddy bear. You give him his teddy bear, give him a kiss and everyone goes back to sleep.
This is only one of numerous possibilities when your baby has learned baby sign language. Through baby sign language, the frustrating task of communicating with a non-speaking baby is eleviated.
Your 10 month old can sign to you whether he wants milk or water. Or you avoid the meltdown of your 16 month old when she signs that she wants to wear the pink shirt rather than the blue one that you picked out.
Long before your baby can talk, he is able to use his hands to communicate with baby signs. We all use some form of sign language to talk to our little ones. Babies learn to shake their head for no, nod their head for yes, and stretch out their arms to be picked up. The use of baby sign language expands on that natural part of "talking" with your baby.
In our Tiny Hands classes and workshops you will learn what you need to teach your baby signs for objects, people, daily activities, concepts and more, giving him the skills to let you know what he needs, wants and thinks. This early ability to communicate strengthens the parent-child bond and even builds self esteem in your baby with his new confidence in his ability to communicate.
